60th RallyRACC featuring three different competitions within one rally
21/05/2025

• 24, 25 and 26 October in Salou and PortAventura World.
• Crews will be able to choose between a gravel Rally, a tarmac Rally, or both
• The 7th of 8 rounds of the Spanish Rally Superchampionship
• Also counting towards 10 other championships, cups and trophies
Salou (Tarragona), 21 May 2025 – The 60th edition of RallyRACC Catalunya Costa Daurada will take place from 24 to 26 October and will feature several novelties. As its main championship, just like in the last two seasons, the event will count towards the Spanish Rally Superchampionship (S-CER) (7th race out of 8), while also forming part of the calendars of ten other championships, trophies and cups. This confirms RallyRACC's status as a favourite among federations, makes and teams.
The main new feature is that the rally will be held over three days, from Friday 24 October to Sunday 26 October. On the first day (24 October), in addition to the scrutineering, the ceremonial start and the urban stage will take place in Salou. On Saturday (25 October), there will be an 88 km stage on gravel roads, followed by a night stage on asphalt at the end of the day. Finally, on Sunday (26 October), an 82 km stage will be held on tarmac, with the race finishing in Salou from 4:00 p.m.
The 2025 RallyRACC will therefore have three classifications depending on what the participating crews wish to compete for: A gravel rally, including the Salou stage on Friday and the gravel stage on Saturday; a tarmac rally, including the night tarmac stage on Saturday and the tarmac stage on Sunday; and last but not least, a rally that will include all stages (gravel and tarmac), i.e. the entire event, awarding the title of overall winner.
Once again, RallyRACC's innovative approach becomes evident in its offering of a race structure that is unprecedented in Spain and goes far beyond a competition on mixed surface. The experienced organisational team at RACC MotorSport will tackle the logistical demands of this complex programme, thus satisfying the sporting preferences of any rally driver.
Obviously, participants in the S-CER will race the entire rally, a format that will also be adopted by the crews competing in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris Cup Spain and the Volant RACC Trofeu WE RACE. Participants in these three championships will have 2 hours and 15 minutes of service time at PortAventura World at the end of Saturday to prepare their cars between the gravel stage and the tarmac stage on Sunday. The rest of the participants will either finish their performance when they arrive in Salou on Saturday after their performance on gravel, or they will compete in their first stage on tarmac that same day and continue the next day with the stage on this type of surface.
The gravel rally will count towards six championships: the overall Catalan Championship and the Catalan Gravel Championship, the Desafío Peugeot (208 Rally4), the Clio Trophy Spain Gravel (Clio Rally5), the Kobe Motor Rally Cup (Aygo X Kobe Motor) and the Past Rally3 Trophy Iberia (Ford Fiesta Rally3). As for the tarmac rally, this itinerary will count towards the Catalan Tarmac Championship and the i20 N Rally Cup.
RallyRACC, the evolution of the finest rallying tradition
The current RallyRACC is the heir to the Volta a Catalunya, a race that was held in two phases: 1916-1920 (with a break in 1918) and 1954-1956. In 1957, the new Rallye Catalunya overlapped with the Volta, remaining on the calendar until 1964. In 1973, the Rallye Catalunya got off to a strong start as a scoring event towards the Spanish Championship, going on to score points for the European Championship in 1980 and the World Championship in 1991.
In the World Rally Championship (WRC), the RallyRACC maintained an extraordinary run of 32 consecutive years, from 1991 to 2004 at its base in Lloret de Mar and from 2005 to 2022 at its current location in Salou and PortAventura World. In 2023, the RACC wanted to make the event more accessible, and since then it has counted towards the Spanish Rally Superchampionship, the Catalan Championship and almost all of the single-brand competitions currently taking place.
