Ogier-Veillas (Toyota) set the fastest time in the Shakedown

PortAventura World, Salou, Costa Daurada, October 20th 2022 – With the Shakedown battle finished, the 57 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2022, has started the action, specifically in the 4.21 km of the Coll de la Teixeta.

Although the times set are not important as it was only a test run, it is worth mentioning that the current World Champions, French duo Sébastien Ogier - Benjamin Veillas (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid), have achieved the best time, 2'40"1, which validates the set-up with which they will face this penultimate round of the World Championship.

Ogier-Veillas were followed by Takamoto Katsuta - Aaron Johnston (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid), with 2'41"1, and Pierre-Louis Loubet - Vincent Landais (Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1), with 2'41"3. Next were the Finns Kalle Rovanperä - Jonne Halttunen (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid), this year's World Champions, with 2'41"5.

In the WRC2 category, the best time was set by Pepe López - Borja Rozada (Hyundai i20 N Rally 2), with 2'48"8, followed by Alejandro Cachón - Alejandro López (Citroën C3 Rally2), with 2'52"3.

This evening at 19.00h, at the podium located on Salou's seafront, the official Ceremonial Start will take place and afterwards all cars will return to the service park at PortAventura World. Action will start with the first stage this Friday, October 21st, from 07.30h.

This day, consisting of four double-run stages, is scheduled to be completed by the teams at the end of the day, 20.07h in the case of the first participant, so as to start a 45-minute service time.

The first day stages are Els Omells - Maldà (11.05 km), Serra de la Llena (11.79 km), Les Garrigues Altes (22.64 km) and Riba-roja (13.98 km). Inbetween the two runs of these stages, starting at 13.26h, the teams will have a 40-minute service at PortAventura World Park.
