The undisputed sporting importance of the 57th RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, penultimate round of the World Rally Championship and last of the European Championship, is reinforced by the celebration of several parallel academic events.

RACC, in collaboration with all public and private entities organizing the event, has promoted these events, aimed at students, that raise awareness of the technology that comes together in this motor racing competition, while showcasing the values of the sport and its practitioners.

The first informative event was held on Monday 17 at the Institut Pere Martell, Tarragona, where engineer Jordi Riba, Head of Test and Development of the Hyundai Motorsport GMBH Team, gave a talk to about 50 students of the Superior and Intermediate Vocational courses of mechanics, mechatronics, and the automotive industry.

Jordi Riba's talk focused on hybrid WRC models: a new technology that is used in the rally cars of the highest category (RC1) that made its debut this year in the World Championship and is an important leap forward for rally competitions. This specialty is currently changing towards a more sustainable activity, a hi-tech evolution that comes to a RallyRACC full of technological interest and at the same time trying to be the most environmentally conscious.

The talk also touched on other technical topics so that the students could get a general idea of the complex technology that moves the world of rallying. There was good participation from the students, who were interested in everything that was explained to them and asked many questions.

Another talk has taken place today, Wednesday 19th, this time focused on the sporting and personal side, with two prominent riders as speakers: Albert Llovera and Laia Sanz, moderated by journalist Neus Saltó. The attendees were 200 high school students from the three schools of Salou: Institut Marta Mata, Escola Elisabeth and Institut Jaume I.

The meeting was very interesting and emotional for all. The Councillor for Educational Services of the Salou City Council, Julia Gomez, welcomed all attendees and noted that: "It is a pleasure for us to host two world-class figures of the automotive sector like Albert Llovera and Laia Sanz"

Finally, on Thursday 20th, 25 students from the Andreu Nin High School in El Vendrell will visit the service park. At the Hyundai Motorsport facilities, they will be given a guided tour by one of the team managers.

It is important to note that the 57th RallyRACC, brings together some promotional competitions for young drivers, in addition to the world's top technology. One of those categories, focused on entry-level sport, is the Volant RACC - Trofeo Mavisa. This event celebrates its 44th edition and is the oldest and most prestigious rally promotion event at a national level. The Volant RACC drivers will race in the same stages as world-class figures with standard Peugeot 208 1.2 Pure Tech vehicles.
