The 6th Rally Catalunya Històric on 8 and 9 April 2022

07/10/2021

Salou will host two great rallies: The speed rally for latest generation vehicles and the regularity rally for classic cars with pedigree

The sixth edition of the Rally Catalunya Històric, a regularity competition for classic cars organised by the RACC since 2017, will be held on 8 and 9 April 2022. This event, one of the few that has been able to take place in spite of the pandemic in the last two years, will once again start and finish every day in Salou, consolidating its position as the rally capital.

The itinerary, which is still being prepared, will cover approximately 150 kilometres of controlled regularity on closed roads out of the nearly 500 kilometres that the route will consist of. One of the particularities most appreciated by the participants is that the regularity is distributed in a good part of the stages that are used in the RallyRACC of the World Championship.

As in the previous edition, the event will be open to participants with vehicles built between 1947 and 1995, which will enter one of the three announced modalities: Regularity Sport (55 km/h), Regularity Super Sport (70 km/h) and LegendCAT category. The winners of the five editions of the Rally Catalunya Històric staged so far have been Carles Miró-Ivan Matavacas (Porsche 911 SC) in 2021 and 2017; the Belgian crew Ruben Maes-Michel Périn (Porsche 914/6) in 2020; Salvador Cañellas-Carles Jiménez (Seat 124 Especial 1800) in 2019; and Josep Viaplana-Carles Jiménez (Seat Ibiza 1.5 GLX) in 2018.
