SS 2/SS 6 – Móra d’Ebre–Ascó Special stage guide

9.62 km (gravel)

Friday, 23 October 2015 • First car due: 10:08h and 14:42h

General description

Very slippery gravel surface with short asphalt sections that leads through a wind farm between the villages of Móra d’Ebre and Ascó. The special starts on a short tarmac section of less than 500 metres in length, to continue on an upward-going gravel track. The ascent finishes on the crest of the mountain from where you can watch large part of the stage; the road gets wider to start a vertiginous descent with a few short asphalted sections. From that area onwards, the special becomes much faster and finishes near the village of Ascó.

Spectator Area ZP-1

Located in one of the fastest sections of the descent, where the road is wider and the bends are linked with each other. The slippery surface and the string of bends predict a great show.

Access: 2-km long gravel track leading to the stage. The access starts at a diversion of the C-12B at kilometre point 3.65. The first area is narrow but the track improves as you get closer to the stage.

Service: Look for a parking space along the access road. There is enough space in the final part on the trackside, avoiding to block the lane.

Spectator Area ZP-2

Located in the final part of the stage. A very fast downhill section with an artificial chicane. Easy to locate for the public as there is a raised area with good visibility to watch the rally cars passing by.

Access: Walking from the C-12B road, kilometre point 6.40. The stage is 200 metres away from the access road.

Service: Limited parking possibilities on the former national highway running parallel to the C-12B.
