SS 12/SS 15 – Poboleda Special stage guide

General description

Speed and lines are the most outstanding features of this stage. It starts after the village of La Vilella Baixa with a first very fast section – which was partially used in 2014 in the Escaladei stage – with a couple of linked bends until reaching the intersection of the Carthusian monastery of Escaladei, from where the stage continues straight until the second and new part of the special, which finishes right before entering the village of Poboleda. Speed continues to be the distinguishing mark but some bends have been added allowing for some interesting cuts and braking manoeuvres.

Spectator Area ZP-1

Approx. one hundred metres after the stage start, there is a section with half-radius bends, all of them linked, shortly before arriving at La Vilella Alta.

Access: Walking from T-710, the road coming from Gratallops and going to La Vilella Baixa. The stage starts a few metres from this village.

Service: No delimited car park, so that the only option is leaving the car on the T-710, always leaving the lane free.

Spectator Area ZP-2

Fast section at the intersection of three roads, good visibility as it has a safe and raised area to follow the rally cars coming and continuing to Poboleda.

Access: Following the asphalted track that leads to the village of Torroja del Priorat.

Service: No delimited car park available. The cars must be park on the roadside leaving the lane free.
