Shakedown: Hayden Paddon (Hyundai), the best prepped for RallyRACC

The 51 RallyRACC CATALUNYA-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2015, kicked off today with the shakedown, the initial practice session in which both drivers and teams put their machines to the test and introduce the final fine-tuning to the cars.

For one and a half hours, Priority 1 and 2 drivers made several passes over the 2.97 km mixed surface circuit prepared in the Emprius area, in Salou, to the delight of large numbers of eager fans.

New Zealand's Hayden Paddon (Hyundai i20 WRC) clinched the fastest time after three runs. Recently crowned World Champion  Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen Polo R WRC) came in second, followed by Poland's Robert Kubica (Ford Fiesta RS WRC). Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 WRC) finished 5th fastest.

After this final rehearsal, the rally will be officially given green light at 1 pm, at Salou's waterfront. Then, competitors will liaison to Barcelona, where the first special stage is scheduled for the afternoon, in an urban track prepared in the Montjuïc mountain.
