RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA 2013

The 49th edition of the RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, has already an official poster. Brightness and colourfulness are once again the essential features of what will be, from now on, the presentation card of the 2013 Spanish Rally. This time, Dani Sordo’s and Carlos del Barrio’s Citroën DS3 is featured on a typical urban image from Salou, for the first time at night, showing one of the main characteristics of what will be the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship.

2013 will be the ninth consecutive year in which the Spanish round of the WRC will be staged completely in the Costa Daurada, with nerve centres in Salou and the PortAventura theme park, and the second year in a row with the official start in the city of Barcelona. Data, itinerary and maps, as well as complete sporting and technical information of the event are available at www.rallyracc.com.

The 49 RallyRACC will be staged from 24 to 27 October 2013. The first day with true competition will be Friday 25th, with the participants contesting three asphalt stages, all of them run at night, after the start on the Cathedral Avenue in Barcelona (06.00 p.m.). The vehicles are due to arrive in PortAventura only a few minutes before midnight. On the following two days, participants will run 6 stages per day, one of them being an urban stage in the heart of Salou (Saturday 26th), while the last day (Sunday 27th) is expected to be the most difficult, with 4 gravel-only and 2 mixed stages. The rally will have a total of 15 special stages making up 355.78 timed kilometres of the 1,015.92 total kilometres of the rally.

The Spanish round of the World Rally Championship is already open for entries, although the regulations will not be published until 22 August. The entry period will be open until Monday, 23 September.
