Three candidates for the SWRC title that will be decided at the RallyRACC

The classification of the SWRC, the world championship for Super 2000 vehicles, arrives completely open to the Spanish round. There are three drivers who can mathematically win, as the fourth of them, who had been the top favourite, namely Hayden Paddon from New Zealand, has lost his title chances even if winning in Catalonia with the other three retiring, as he then would be even in points with the current leader, but would loose due to the results.

Looking at the figures, the big battle will be between Irishman Craig Breen (Ford Fiesta S2000/93 points) and Swedish driver Per-Gunnar Andersson (Proton Satria Neo S2000/91 points). They are separated by only two points, while Yazeed Al Rajhi (Ford Fiesta RRC/73 points) from Saudi Arabia, is 20 points behind, a distance that seems rather difficult to overcome. The victories of the season went so far to Craig Breen (3), Per-Gunnar Andersson and Hayden Paddon (2 each).

Craig was the first winner of the WRC Academy and as a reward, he took part in the SWRC without having to pay the entry fees, with his competitive Ford Fiesta; a good proof of the significance of promotion formulas to discover young talents.

Overall SWRC standings before Catalunya

5-Maciej Oleksowicz (Poland/Ford Fiesta S2000), 65 points
