SS-1 / SS-4– La Mussara – 20.480 kms.

General description:
The RallyRACC 2009 starts with the last year version of the stage that in 2007 was the Vilaplana stage. It starts on a completely new section, a narrow, recently asphalted road with very good views over the region of Baix Camp, around the no-longer-used barracks of Castillejos. After an extremely fast section right after the barracks, a steep descent takes to an almost 90º-junction to the T-704. 4 very fast kilometres later, the stage starts a steep descent with several loops to reach the village of Vilaplana, end of the special.

Spectator areas ZP-1
ZP-1 is located at the start of the stage. It is an area with fast bends and good location right after the start, finishing in a left-hand loop with more limited location. Moreover, this spectator area has the additional charm of offering excellent views over the area of Reus.



 

Access-1: From the N-240 linking Reus with Falset, take the C-242 heading for Les Borjes del Camp and Alforja. Some 5 km after reaching Coll d’Alforja, take the TV-7012 direction Arbolí. The stage is on the TV-7092, some 3.5 km from the junction.

Access-2: Following the same indication as for Access-1, continue to Cornudella del Monstant on the C-242 until km 48.2. There is an asphalted road that will take you to Arbolí passing the Siurana reservoir, thus avoiding the route used by the rally vehicles.

Spectator areas ZP-2
ZP-2 is the T-shaped junction on the T-704. The junction has an angle of little over 90º and it will be especially important for participants as they reach it after a very fast section and it is followed by a long straight. The main handicap of this point is that there are no high areas, so it is not the best location.


Access: Coming from the North of the stage, the best option is to take the exit of the AP-2 highway in Montblanc or to follow the C-14 from Reus, heading for Montblanc, Espluga de Francolí and Vimbodí, to climb the TV-7003 and the T-700 eading for Prades, where you will find the T-704 on the left hand side that will take you to La Febró and 7.5 km from there, the stage.

Spectator areas ZP-3

ZP-3 is the junction in Mot-ral but in opposite direction than last year and very different to the former stage. This time, the stage turns right and the junction looses quite a lot of its spectacularity compared to previous versions. The areas before and after the junction are fast and not really intersting.

Access: Form Alcover, take the TV-7041 and after some 11 km you reach the old stage of Vilaplana to Capafonts. Then turn left heading and follow the TV-7045 to Mon-ral, to reach the junction after some 8 km.

Services: Very limited parking on the TV-7045 which is quite narrow in that area.

Spectator areas ZP-4
ZP-4 is a large spectator area, having as main interest the section half a kilometre from the start. A special highlight is a left-hand loop with a delicate braking point and a bridge, just before the fast section that ends with the finish. To access the loop area follow a path starting from the centre of Vilaplana


Access 1: From N-420 after Reus, turn to the right and take T-704 to Vilaplana passing Maspujols and l’Aleixar.

Access-2: From the West drive to Alforja on the C-242 and then turn right following the TV-7013 passing the housing estate “Urbanización Portugal”.

Access-3: From the East crossing Selva del Camp on the TP-7013. (Restricted section not recommended because it is used by the rally caravan).

Services:
- Parking area around Vilaplana
- Sign-posted path to go walking from the northern part of the village walking by the water tank.

Attention!! The access to the stage through the finish will be forbidden because it is a no-go area out of the asphalt. All spectators must use the path marked from Vilaplana to access the special, which is 2 km from there.
