Start of the RallyRACC reconnaissance

Everything is ready

All drivers of the 44 movistar RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España, will be carrying out the reconnaissance of the rally stages today, Tuesday 30th September and tomorrow, Wednesday 1st October. The reconnaissance is regulated, so that each participating team will only be able to cover each of the special stages twice, between 08.00 and 19.00hrs on these two days, following a specific schedule.

The stages available for reconnaissance on Tuesday are Querol, El Montmell, La Mussara, Riudecanyes and the Shakedown stage in Escornalbou. In order to avoid congestion, competitors have been divided into three groups and each of the groups will be starting the route with a different special.

The specials to be recognised on Wednesday will be Priorat-Ribera d’Ebre, Les Garrigues, La Llena, Santa Marina and La Serra d’Almos with the same conditions as on the previous day.  Some drivers appointed by the FIA will have to carry a GPS speed-control system on board of their cars. This is due to the strict control carried out by the organisation during the reconnaissance. At the start and the finish of each stage, the control marshals take note of the vehicle participating in the reconnaissance of the stage and stamp the respective form in order to verify each stage passage of the participants.

As in all WRC events, drivers who have not entered the race but wish to do the stage reconnaissance at the RallyRACC for a possible future participation in the event, may do so paying the respective fees and being obliged to comply with the same regulations as all drivers who are taking part in the race.

Media Centre opens
Media credentials will also be handed out today (Tuesday) to the media representatives who requested them and the Media Centre, located in the Hotel PortAventura, will be open from tomorrow (Wednesday) at 08.00 a.m. Journalists, fans and the public in general will be able to follow all rally times online at the official rally website www.rallyracc.com, where they will find complete information on the Rally de España: news, entrants, route, maps, results and copyright-free high-resolution pictures during the race days.
