RallyRACC, a popular and media appealing event


 

The 44 movistar RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de Espaņa, twelfth (out of 15) scoring round of the FIA World Rally Championship and sixth (out of 7) of the Junior Championship, that will be held from 2 to 5 October, is generating great expectations in these previous moments.  The obvious sporting interest of the Spanish event due to the situation in the overall standings of the world championship joins together with the strong wish of the Spanish fans to see the evolution of the best drivers of the world, with Dani Sordo being with no doubt one of the biggest and most popular stars among them.

According to a study carried out on behalf of the RACC, the profile and origin of the spectators following the race live is quite heterogeneous, although most of them, around 77 percent, are young people of up to 35 years, and follow the development of the race during 3 days (22.8%), 4 days (32.9%) or 5 days (25.1%), while more than 61% come back to the Costa Daurada to see the evolutions of the elite of the World Championship.

All of these data show that the fan of the Spanish round is not only someone faithful to the event but also someone who involves him/herself so much that it turns the event into one of the most attended of the championship. A true lover of the world of rallying who is fond of and understands, like in not many other motor sport specialities, what is happening in the race.

As regards the media, the 44 RallyRACC will be counting on the presence of hundreds of journalists from Spain and Europe, who will be showing the sporting battle, which with no doubt will be experienced in this probably decisive round for the WRC, to the whole world. As in previous editions, the organisation is putting special care on the dissemination of the RallyRACC and the whole WRC. At www.rallyracc.com, the Spanish aerial of the WRC, fans will be able to follow the information on the WRC throughout the year, race by race, while the information on the Spanish round will be playing the leading role in the days to come. Moreover, during the rally as such, fans will be able to find information, statements, live timing, high-definition pictures and everything needed to experience the race without having to be on site.

ONA FM and Cadena Ser are the official radio stations of the RallyRACC. ONA FM will be broadcasting constant information during the race, which fans will be able to follow through two stations in the rally's area of influence: ONA Tarragona, on the frequency 97.1 and ONA Penedčs on 104.0 (only for the El Querol and el Montmell stages). Likewise, the same radio programme may be followed on the Cadena SER stations, through Rādio Reus (1026 OM), SER-Tarragona (97.7 FM) and Rādio Móra d'Ebre (87.6 FM). On a regional and national level, Cadena SER will also having a large dissemination of the race details. On the other hand, the official programme of the Rally de Espaņa, which will be edited by the Auto Sport Hebdo magazine (Grupo Zeta) will be included in their weekly edition on the week before the rally.
