SS-9 / SS-13 – Margalef-La Palma d’Ebre – 15,850 kms.

General description:
This stage combines a small road with a lot of gravel and a very different surface compared to all the roads of the area, and the T-702, which is more similar to all the other stages of the rally due to its even asphalt. The start is located on the asphalted road very close to the village of Margalef. From then on it combines a twisty, steep ascent filled with gravel with a much faster descent to get to the T-702 where the stage changes completely to climb again but on a much more even, new asphalt to reach Palma d’Ebre.

Spectator areas ZP-1
ZP-1 is located at the start of the special. The first bends are s-shaped during the ascent and it is with no doubt the less interesting section of this special.

Access: To access the stage you have to go to Margalef. Coming from the South, the best way to get there is on the C-44 and the C-12 – exit 38 of the AP-7 highway. Once in Vinebre, continue heading for La Torre de l’Espanyol and then take first the T-714 and then the T-702. From this road, you can reach Margalef passing by Cabacés or La Bisbal de Falset. The stage is located on an asphalted road starting close to Margalef on Km 9 of the T-713, 3 km from La Bisbal de Falset.

Services: Very limited parking space in Margalef.

Spectator areas ZP-2
ZP-2 is one of the best spots of the whole rally. Several loops at the end of the ascent on the road coming from Margalef, filled with gravel are a guarantee for a great show. The only problem is that it is very close to the access to ZP5 of Coll de Grau so that this access will be restricted.

Access: To access this spectator area, follow the C-242 to Bellaguarda – following the same instructions of the northern access to ZP-5 of Coll de Grau. More than one kilometre after the village, on Km 18.8, the car acces will be restricted. The asphalted road to the right and continue until reaching the stage, which is located some 4 km away.

Attention!! Since the access to this spectator area coincides with the Coll de Grau access, it will be closed well in advance and the use will be restricted.

Spectator areas ZP-3

ZP-3 is another very interesting spot of the stage, since it is an area with large visibility. The final descent until the junction with the T-702 and the access to this road is the most interesting spot.

Access: You have to go to La Bisbal de Falset following the same route as explained for ZP-1. The stage is located some 2 km from the village, following the T-702.

Services: Limited spectator car park in the soccer field of the village.

Spectator areas ZP-4

ZP-4 near the finish of the stage is a section with linked long and fast bends offering good location places and visibility in a large part of the end of the stage
