Entry period for the RallyRACC 2007 just about to open

Next Monday, 16th July, the entry period for the 43 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, will be opened. The Spanish round of the WRC will be staged from 4th to 7th October 2007. The entry period will close on Thursday 30th August, exactly five weeks before the start of the rally and the time in which he FIA will approve the definitive entry list, which will then be published at 12 o'clock on Friday 14th September on the rally’s website www.rallyracc.com.

Even if it should look like a pure formality, the opening of the entry period is actually the starting point of the RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Spanish round of the world championship, which will be starting its countdown once again expertly conducted by the RACC. The organisation has been working hard in order to allow for the participation of the largest possible number of Spanish drivers, slightly reducing the entry fee compared to 2006 for foreign drivers (3.250 €) and halving the entry fee for “home” drivers (1.625 €). The registration form can be downloaded from the official rally website or at the Sporting Area of the RACC calling +34 93 495 50 34, or by fax +34 93 448 23 38 or e-mail rallyracc@racc.es.

The 12th (out of 16) round of the World Rally Championship and penultimate round of the JWRC and the Fiesta Sporting Trophy, is expected to have a large number of participants, including the Spaniards Dani Sordo (Citroën), Xevi Pons (Subaru) and the JWRC driver Manuel Rueda (Renault). A special anecdote was the reception of the first registration form in late May, i.e. before the start of the entry period, sent by British driver Tim Jones (Ford Ka).
