Garden and Trade Area, the heart of the Service Park

Rally Catalunya's Service Park

A sports meeting like the RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA needs a parallel structure to host the multiple promotion and public relations activities surrounding such a large event. Therefore, RACC Motor Sport has created in the heart of the Service Park in PortAventura, the RallyRACC-Villlage, with a surface of more than 14,000 m2 that will become the real nerve centre of the race, where rally fans will be playing the leading role.

Surrounded by the facilities of the service crews, the Trade Area will be counting on a large number of stands in which companies and sponsors will make their products known, mixing up with several leisure activities that will be organised during the day and at night. In a raised area, right in front of the service facilities of the official teams and therefore with excellent views over the working area, there will be an innovative, 4,000m2-large space called Garden, which will be reserved for guests holding a special pass. The Garden will be offering guests of companies and sponsors the best hospitality service backed by a refined catering offer.

These activities, together with the leisure area located on the Salou Promenade - venue of the start and the finish of the race, and host to several further activities such as the 10th edition of the Rallycontrol RACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA and the 15th Rallyslot Ninco Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA - will be providing a varied leisure offer for the general public.

RACC to test their own timing system

RACC Motor Sport will fit the 0 and 00 cars with an own technological infrastructure to be able to take times on stages, a test which may lead to the definitive fitting of these equipments in next editions of the rally. This system that complies with al FIA standards, includes a safety tracking system, allowing to permanently control the position of every vehicle fitted with it. Created by the RACC in cooperation with their suppliers SIT, the system has alarms that are activated when a vehicle stops or leaves its GPS coordinates. Moreover, it has a voice communication system to let the driver or the co-driver (in this case driving the vehicles of the organisation) and the Race Direction communicate directly if it should be needed.

The RACC will also be testing a new yellow-flag system with an alarm device to inform all vehicles affected by a problem in the stage, which will be included in this tracking system. This will to innovate has located RACC Motor Sport in a clear leading position, especially as regards the WRC timing standards for the future. Moreover, and like in previous editions, RACC Motor Sport will continue with the back-up of the official timing provided by ISC-T.

Charter flight from Reus to Ajaccio

In order to make it easier for drivers taking part in the RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA and in the Tour de Corse-Rally de France, thirteenth scoring round of the championship, to be held on the week after the Spanish round, RACC-Travel has organised a charter flight that will be departing early in the morning on Monday, October 8 from the airport in Reus to the international Campo dell'Oro airport in Ajaccio.
