INTRODUCTION

It is a real pleasure to invite you to take part in the sixth edition of the RALLYCONTROL CATALUNYA-COSTA BRAVA-WORLD RACE in the 1/5 scale touring car class.

The Rallycontrol Catalunya-Costa Brava is one of the main supporting events of the Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava / Rally de España 2003, this being part of the World Rally Championship. It will be held on October 24th, 25th and 26th in Lloret de Mar, Rally Base and important tourist resort on the Spanish Costa Brava.

Given the big success of the previous edition, declared as the best race held within the EFRA, and due to the large amount of entry requests we were receiving for the 2003 edition, we have been forced to change the race format. The 6th edition of the Rallycontrol will be a race by invitation, limiting the number of participants to only 100 drivers from all over the world, who will be chosen strictly according to the ranking order and their competitiveness. With this new race concept we will be assuring the drivers' comfort, strict timetable compliance and the best show for the public.

We want to open our race to the world and therefore we are especially inviting drivers from other continents to come an discover the European competition and the racing atmosphere in Lloret de Mar during the Rally Catalunya - Costa Brava / Rally de España, scoring round of the World Rally Championship.

Unfortunately, this entry limitation will be leaving out several drivers, who will not have the chance to take part in the race, and the organisation wants to apologise for this new format we have been forced to introduce.

We also want to let you know, that we have submitted the request to host and organise the 2005 Fifth Scale World Championship for Touring Cars. That's another reason why we have been working for several months now to improve our race and to get closer to the organisational and professional level needed for a World Championship event.

The 6th Rallycontrol in Lloret de Mar will be held three weeks after the World Championship in the USA and thus will be a great opportunity for world championship drivers to settle accounts after the championship.

The Rallycontrol will be staged on a secret track with a lot of grip that nobody will have been able to test before. The 6th Rallycontrol in Lloret de Mar is the ideal venue for a World Championship revenge.
