TC02: BURNS PRIMERO Y KANKKUNEN CON PROBLEMAS DE DIRECCION
El segundo tramo ha transcurrido entre Alpens y Les Lloses (21,99Km) y el inglés de Subaru Richard Burns ha vuelto a conseguir el mejor registro con 14:30.3, seguido de Colin McRae (Ford) con un tiempo de 14:35.5, el mismo que ha marcado el español Carlos Sainz (Ford). Juha Kankkunen tiene problemas con la dirección asistida, de momento están intentando arreglarlo y esto se notará en los siguientes tramos.
Richard Burns (Subaru): "Ha sido un tramo en el que he notado poca adherencia, pero el tiempo ahora mismo no me preocupa".
Didier Auriol (Seat): "El joystick no me funciona, he pasado al modo manual".
Toni Gardmeister (Seat): "He preferido hacer la primera pasada con mucha prudencia y luego ya apretaremos".
Carlos Sainz (Ford): "Me ha ido mejor, espero que a partir de ahora podamos solventar los problemas que hemos tenido en el primer tramo".
Jesús Puras (Citroën): "Es un tramo muy difícil para los F-2. Hace mucho frío y el coche no me tracciona bien".
Luis Climent (Sköda): "Parece que el coche no tira. He hecho un trompo en el primer tramo y en este segundo las curvas estaban muy sucias".

SS02: BURNS IS FIRST AND KANKKUNEN HAS STEERING PROBLEMS
The second stage has passed through Alpens and Les Lloses (21,99Km), and the British Subaru driver, Richard Burns has obtained the best mark once again, with 14:30.3, followed by Colin McRae (Ford), with 14:35.5, the same time as the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Ford) achieved. El segon tram ha transcorregut entre Alpens i Les Lloses (21,99 quilòmetres) i l'anglès de Subaru Richard Burns ha tornata a aconseguir el millor registre amb 14:30.3, seguit de Colin McRae (Ford) amb un temps de 14:35.5, el mateix que ha marcat l'espanyol Carlos Sainz (Ford). Juha Kankkunen té problemes amb la direcció assistida, de moment estan intentant arreglar-ho i això es notarà en els següents trams.
Richard Burns (Subaru): "Ha estat un tram en el qual he notat poca adherència, però el temps ara no em preocupa".
Didier Auriol: (Seat): "El joystick no em funciona, he passat al mode manual".
Toni Gardmeister (Seat): "He preferit fer la primera passada amb molta prudència i llavors ja apretarem".
Carlos Sainz (Ford): "M'ha anat millor, espero que a partir d'ara puguem solucionar els problemes que hem tingut en el primer tram".
Jesús Puras (Citroën): "És un tram molt difícil pels F-2. Fa molt de fred i el cotxe no em funciona gaire bé".
Luis Climent (Sköda): "Sembla que el cotxe no tira. He fet una virolla en el primer tram i en aquest segon les corbes estaven brutes".
