TC11: SAINZ GANA DE NUEVO Y LUCHARÁ POR LA VICTORIA

Carlos Sainz (Ford) ha vuelto a marcar el scratch en el último tramo del día con un tiempo de 22.41 seguido de Richard Burns (Subaru) a 2 segundos y Colin McRae (Ford) a 4 segundos. La distancia entre los tres primeros de la general, que se han mostrado muy fuertes a lo largo de toda la jornada, es sólo de diez segundos, encabezada por el escocés, seguido del inglés a 4.3 y el español a 9.3. La emoción del Rallye queda para la última etapa y las opciones del español para alzarse con la victoria están totalmente vivas. Los tres siguientes del tramo han sido los Peugeot de Panizzi, Gronhölm, y Delecour, en este orden. Cabe destacar el abandono de Toni Gardemeister (Seat Córdoba) en este tramo a causa de una salida al arrancársele la rueda trasera izquierda, y de Juha Kankkunen (Subaru) en el último parque de asistencia por avería.

Carlos Sainz (Ford): "A pesar de que este último tramo estaba muy sucio, todo ha ido muy bien y las diferencias entre los primeros son ajustadas, aún optamos a todo".
Richard Burns (Subaru): "Había mucha gravilla en el tramo, también mucha gente, pero muy bien situada y estoy satisfecho de cómo va todo".
Luis Climent (Skoda): "Vaya día que llevamos, hemos roto el diferencial y hemos recorrido trece kilómetros sin frenos".
Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi): Ha finalizado séptimo. "Hemos roto los latiguillos de los frenos y hemos hecho los últimos cinco kilómetros sólo con los frenos de atrás".
Fabrice Morel (Peugeot): "Me he salido de la carretera en el Km 25 del tramo y he destrozado la delantera del coche. Esperemos que no haya nada irreparable".
Didier Auriol (Seat): "El joystick empieza a funcionar mejor. He tenido un error en los neumáticos en el noveno tramo, he puesto una monta muy dura y esto me ha hecho perder tiempo".

TC11: SAINZ WINS AGAIN AND WILL FIGHT FOR THE VICTORY

Carlos Sainz (Ford) has made the scratch again in the last stage of the day, with 22.41, followed by Richard Burns (Subaru) 2 seconds away, and Colin McRae (Ford), at 4 seconds. The distance between the first three drivers of the general classification, who have proved to be very strong throughout the day, is only 10 seconds, led by the Scotsman, followed by the English driver at 4.3, and the Spaniard at 9.3. The thrill of the Rallye remains until the last leg, and the options of the Spanish driver to end with the victory are totally alive and kicking. The next three cars in the stage have been the Peugeots of Panizzi, Gronhölm, and Delecour, in this order. Important issues to point out in this stage are the retirements of Toni Gardemeister (Seat Córdoba), because he went off the road when his rear left wheel came off, and Juha Kankkunen, in the last assistance park of the day, due to technical problems.

Carlos Sainz (Ford): "Although this last stage was very dirty, everything went very well, and the differences between the first cars is very close. We still aim at everything".
Richard Burns (Subaru): "There was a lot of gravel in the stage, and a lot of people too, but they are well situated, and I'm satisfied about how everything is going.".
Luis Climent (Skoda): "What a day we've been having! We broke the differential, and we ran thirteen kilometers without brakes".
Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi): Finished in seventh position. "We broke the brake line and we ran the last 5 kilometers with the rear brakes only".
Fabrice Morel (Peugeot): "I went off the road in Km 25 of the stage, and I destroyed the front part of the car. We hope there is nothing that can't be repaired".
Didier Auriol (Seat): "The joystick starts to work better. I had problems with the tires in the ninth stage, the adjustments were very hard, and that made me lose time".

Carlos Sainz (Ford) ha tornat a marcar l'scratch a l'últim tram del dia amb un temps de 22.41 seguit de Richard Burns (Subaru) a 2 segons i Colin McRae (Ford) a 4 segons. La distància entre els tres primers de la general, que s'han mostrat molt forts durant tota la jornada, és només de deu segons, encapçalada per l'escocès, seguit de l'anglès a 4.3 i l'espanyol a 9.3. L'emoció del Rallye queda per a la última etapa i les opcions de l'espanyol per aconseguir la victòria són totalment vives. Els tres següents del tram han estat els Peugeot de Panizzi, Gronhölm, y Delecour, en aquest ordre. S'ha de destacar l'abandonament de Toni Gardemeister (Seat Córdoba) en aquest tram a causa d'una sortida quan se li ha arrencat la roda posterior esquerra, i de Juha Kankkunen a la darrera assistència per avaria.

Carlos Sainz (Ford): "Tot i que aquest últim tram estava molt brut, tot ha anat molt bé i les diferències entre els primers són ajustades, encara optem a tot".
Richard Burns (Subaru): "Hi havia molta graveta al terra, també molta gent, però ben situada i estic satisfet de com va tot".
Luis Climent (Skoda): "Quin dia que portem, hem trencat el diferencial i hem recorregut tretze quilòmetres sense frens".
Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi): Ha finalitzat setè. "He trencat les maneguetes dels frens i he fet els últims cinc quilòmetres només amb els frens del darrere".
Fabrice Morel (Peugeot): "He sortit de la carretera en el quilòmetre 25 del tram i he destrossat la davantera del cotxe. Esperem que no hi hagi res irreperable".
Didier Auriol (Seat): "El joystick comença a funcionar millor. He tingut problemes amb els pneumàtics en el novè tram, he posat una monta molt dura i això m'ha fet perdre molt temps".
