SS 8/SS 11 • Querol Special stage guide

General description

This super special stage starts in the village of Pontils, and the first section of the stage runs along the T-201 road, which despite being a bit narrow has a tarmac surface in very good conditions. After 9 km, there is the tight intersection of Esblada, on C-37, which marks the start of the second part of the stage with a wider road and on very good asphalt. The special continues, passing Querol, to reach Pont d'Armentera, where it ends with a very fast and technical section.

Spectator Area ZP-1

It is the start of the stage, the first bend right after passing by the village of Pontils. Be careful since, despite being the start, the cars will arrive at high speed.

Accesses: There are several different accesses to reach the intersection or the village of Pontils easily. These are the two most important:

Access 1: Following TV-2011 from Santa Maria de Miralles and La Llacuna.
Access 2: From the AP-2 highway, take exit 9 Montblanc and continue to Sarral (TP-2311) and Rocafort de Queralt (C-421). 5 km after this village, turn to the right to follow TV-2015 to Vallespinosa. Before reaching the village there is a track on the left hand side leading to Pontils.

Parking: Limited in the area of Pontils. You may also park on the access roads, always respecting the traffic regulations and avoiding blocking the roads .

Spectator Area ZP-2

Intersection between T-201 and C37 in Esblada. It is an intersection between a narrow and a broader road, both going downwards. The intersection as such is narrow and quite spectacular, and there is also a lot of space to be able to find a safe location, always in the upper part of the area near the road and getting there early enough.

Access: You can only reach this point following C-37 coming from Igualada, Santa María de Miralles and La Llacuna

Parking: Very limited on the C-37 that will be closed 2km from the intersection. Always remember to leave enough space available for traffic circulation.

Spectator Area ZP-3

Interesting place as it is a passage through the village of Querol, a rather unusual fact in the RallyRACC. The high speed at which the cars arrive and the slope provide for the rest. Safe area above the margins along the road.

Access: It is a bit complicated considering that it is a track with quite broken asphalt. The track starts from TV-2441, at kp 11. Take the road TV-2441 from Santes Creus and continue to Les Pobles/Pontons.

At the intersection with the asphalted track follow the indications to Querol/Sant Jaume de Montagut. Continue to Sant Jaume de Montagut until kilometre 3.4 km, and then do not leave the asphalted track until reaching Querol (3,8 km).

Parking: Very limited, on the access road to Querol. Be careful not to block the access as it is a very narrow track. .
