RallyRACC, day 3: last leg and with the drivers’ championship title at stake

27/10/2019

The third and last day of competition at the 55 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2019, started this morning with 47 participants going out from the PortAventura World Service Park. Two stages that will be run twice form today's itinerary: Riudecanyes (16.35 km) and La Mussara (20.72 km), both of them on tarmac and the last will be used as Power Stage, which will give additional points apart from the ones achieved with the overall standings position. That might be very important for the final outcome of the championship.

Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul lead the provisional standings after 13 stages followed by another Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, the one driven by Dani Sordo/Carlos del Barrio, 21''5 behind, and Ott Tänak/Martin Järveoja (Toyota Yaris WRC) 24''6 away. The Estonian duo, depending on what happens at the Power Stage, could secure the World Champions title for the first time, which makes this last day very important, as many already foresaw at the beginning of the race.
