The 55 RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada kicks off

The 61 participants attending the ceremonial start at Salou's waterfront yesterday evening left PortAventura World's service park today at 8 am sharp. The FIA World Rally Championship penultimate round, the 55 RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada, Rally de España 2019, got under way.

The first day will feature the Gandesa (7 km), Horta-Bot (19 km) and La Fatarella-Vilaba (38.85 km) first loop, mostly raced on gravel except for a couple of tarmac bits on the last stage. The second loop includes the same stages, to build a total of 129.70 timed kilometres out of 589.28 overall, in the longest day of the rally. Tonight, teams will have to work hard in the service are to set the cars up for the two asphalt legs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
