SS 2/SS 5 - Gandesa

7,00 km (gravel)
Friday, 26 October 2018 • First car due: 09:33h and 15:23h

General description

This special stage, which is changing direction this year, has been named after the village from which it starts: Gandesa. The stage that runs along the RT-10 track has now become a continuous descent. The gravel ground turns it into a stage with excellent conditions to be able to use the complete width. The first part is slower and twisty and the second part becomes faster as it gets to the finish, including several linked bends at high speed.

Spectator Area ZP-1

It is located in the final section of the stage. The track goes down and up again, and changes from gravel to tarmac. The special starts with a section of linked bends on asphalt which become more and more dirty with the passage of the cars. Safe location on the hillside with very good visibility.

Access: The start is located some 400 metres from Gandesa, but the road is going to be closed from the build-up area onwards. There are several roads leading to Gandesa as the town is located in the junction of C-43 (from Benifallet), N-420 (from Corbera d'Ebre in one direction or from Calaceite in the other) or TV-7231 (from Vilalba dels Arcs).

Parking: Look for space in the town, as the stage begins only a few metres away from Gandesa. The direct access to the stage is following the road called Calle Calvari.

Spectator Area ZP-2

A few metres from the finish of the special, there are several bends with a medium-sized radius, all of them linked, running downwards, with the village of Bot in the back. Safe location on the hillside and beside the raised crop areas that provide for good visibility.

Access: Walking from TV-3531, the road going from Bot (the town is approx. 1 km from the intersection of the stage start) to Gandesa.

Parking: There is no delimited car park, so that a good option is to leave the car parked in Bot and walk to the stage start.
