The third day of the 52 RallyRACC CATALUNYA-COSTA DAURADA, Rally de España 2016, brings the change of surface from yesterday's gravel to tarmac, that will be the surface for today, Saturday 15th, and tomorrow, Sunday 16th. The itinerary of this third day is made up of eight stages with just one pass through Vilaplana (6.28 km), which will start the day, while Alcover-Capafonts (19.93 km), Querol (21.26 km) and El Montmell (21,14 km) will be run twice before finishing the day with the Salou street stage (2.24 km). It will be a tough and demanding day, with 139.18 timed km on tarmac with a total of 522.51, although today the teams will have a 30 minute service at PortAventura World after the first loop.

About the current provisional standings, the Spanish duo of Dani Sordo-Marc Martí (Hyundai) lead the round after an impressive second loop today, although the starting positions will be the same as in the gravel day and Sébastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia (Volkswagen), who are in second place 17 seconds behind might be benefited from going out to a clean road. Jati-Matti Latvala-Miikka Anttila (Volkswagen), who retired yesterday due to a mechanical failure, will restart today but with a big time loss.
