SS 9/SS 12 – Alcover-Capafonts Special stage guide

19,93 km (asphalt)

Saturday, 15 October 2016 • First car due: 08:49h and 13:57h

General description

The same stage that was run in 2015 with the name of Capafonts but in opposite direction. This time the special stage starts in the village of Alcover and ends in Capafonts. The initial section of the stage is a very wide road but with a very broken asphalt. Once halfway the stage, near the village of Mont-ral, the road gets narrower, the surface gets better and it becomes more twisted running through a forested area. The stage becomes flatter until reaching Capafonts.

Spectator Area ZP-1

It is located exactly halfway the stage, i.e. the point in which the first differences between participants will become evident. The area is quite fast until the ascent that starts in Alcover. There is good visibility, going past the intersection in Mont-ral. Safe area in the raised parts near the road, but pay attention, as it is a very fast section.

Access: Walking from the village of Mont-ral, which is reached following the TV-7045 road coming from La Mussara. Watch out for this access as it is very close to the fist special stage to be raced that day.

Parking: In Mont-ral, making it very easy to reach the stage .

Spectator Area ZP-2

From this area onwards, the race cars face the final section of the stage. Located in the central part, the cars will negotiate two loops going upwards, the first one wider than the second, after leaving the diversion to Farena. Safe area in the nearby crop fields that act as a natural grandstand.

Access: Follow the asphalted track that comes from the village of Farena and previously from La Riba. To reach Farena follow the road TV-7044.

Parking: Limited parking facilities on the access road coming from Farena. Please remember to leave one free lane and to avoid blocking the access. ATTENTION: The access through the stage finish to Capafonts will be closed from the intersection in La Febró/Prades .
