This is one of the two stages that had not been raced since 2009. It starts in the village of Pontils, and the first section of the stage runs along the T-201 road, which despite being a bit narrow, has a tarmac surface in very good conditions. After 9 km, there is the tight intersection of Esblada, on C-37, which marks the start of the second part of the stage with a wider road and on very good asphalt. The special continues, passing Querol, to reach Pont d'Armentera, where it ends with a very fast and technical section.

Not really the best place to watch the stage as such, as it is the start, in the village of Pontils. Right after the start, the first point of interest is the intersection where participants turn right, as the stage continues with a fast section.

Access 2: From the AP-2 highway, take exit 9 Montblanc and continue towards Sarral (TP-2311) and Rocafort de Queralt (C-421). After this village, continue 5 km and turn right to follow TV-2015 towards Vallespinosa. Before entering the built-up area you will find a track heading left that takes you to Pontils.

The famous Esblada intersection of T-201 and C37, famous for the many pictures from the time it was run. The intersection as such is a tight and spectacular bend. Natural grandstands allow for a good location both to watch this and also the following bends.

Access: Exclusively following C-37 coming from Igualada.

Services: Limited car parking on the C-37, but keeping in mind that the road will be closed 2 km from the intersection in order to avoid traffic jams.

In the village of Querol. The passage through the built-up area is a very fast section but it has the advantage that you have the chance to enjoy the services.

This is the arrival area of the stage, approx. 1.5 km from Pont d’Armentera. In this area you can enjoy several linked, long bends, though a bit hidden, since it is a wooded area. The worst aspect is that the access must be made by foot from the village.




Access: You have to get to Pont d'Armentera either following C-37 after leaving the AP-2 highway at exit 10, or following TP-2002 from Vila-rodona.
