RallyRACC, mid day 2: Loeb, increases his lead. Sordo recovers ground; the public fills the stages

(23/10/2010)

After three of the six stages that form the second competitive day of the 46 RallyRACC Catalunya-COSTA DAURADA, Rally of Spain, Sébastien Loeb-Daniel Elena (Citroën) increased their advantage over their closest rivals. Sébastien Ogier-Julien Ingrassia (Citroën C4 WRC) are not among them anymore, as they lost more than 15 minutes in Riudecanyes 1 after a crash. On arrival at the PortAventura service park, Loeb keeps an advantage of 46.2 seconds over the next car, Petter Solberg-Chris Patterson (Citroën C4 WRC).

Dani Sordo-Diego Vallejo (Citroën C4 WRC) recovered some time in the stages and also some places in the overall classification, partly thanks to Ogier’s problems, that allowed them to reach a position just outside the provisional podium. They are now fourth overall, 6.1 seconds behind the third, Latvala-Anttila (Ford Focus RS WRC 2008). The public is filling the stages, that are being held on time and without any incidents.

Over at J-WRC the best place is for the Spanish pair of Yeray Lemes-Rogelio Peñate (Renault Clio S1600), ahead of the Dutch Hans Weijs-Bjorn Degandt (Citroën C2 S1600) who, if they can keep this result, would be the Junior World Champions.

During this second day, the Riudecanyes 2 stage will be broadcast live by Canal 33 and www.elsesports.cat. The stage will start at 16.34pm. An hour before, the channel will broadcast reports and interviews about the race.
