Sébastien Loeb (Citroën), fastest driver in the Shakedown

Sébastien Loeb (Citroën). Shakedown RallyRACC 2008

Although the purpose of the Shakedown is to allow drivers to test their cars in race conditions, the times each team sets is a significant indicator of the state of its cars. Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC) was the fastest man this morning in the 2.4 km of the Escornalbou stage, almost three seconds ahead of team mate Dani Sordo and François Duval (Ford Focus WRC 2008), who clocked exactly the same time. This was Duval’s debut as official Ford driver. He was followed by the two Subaru Impreza, with Chris Atkinson and Petter Solberg at the wheel, also even on time.

Sébastien Loeb: “The C4 feels great, and it’s good to have this stage so close to the service park so that we don’t waste time going back and forth”. Dani Sordo: “I’m happy the Shakedown is close to the service park, even if it’s so short. I tried to push a bit more and the C4 is well adjusted. I want to fight for victory, although we should try to do things well from the beginning”.
